Oilmen Catch a Break for a Good Cause

Airdrie, AB - The Airdrie Oilmen’s Association (AOA) could have really used a hand in terms of the weather forecast for their 5th Annual Bikes and Bulls event. For the past two years, this unique combination of motorcycle activities and bull riding action has been hammered with wet, cold and rainy conditions. This year the AOA caught a break, the weather was fantastic and the crowds were entertained.

Adrian Pruden, AOA President and his team of AOA volunteers stepped up once again and orchestrated another weekend of fun and excitement. “We (the AOA) simply could not have hosted this event without the support from our generous and loyal partners and sponsors.” exclaimed Pruden before the event started. “...TARA Oilfield Services has been an excellent partner and a huge thanks goes out to the entire organization”.

There were five countries represented and four different stock contractors brought bulls for the 25-man long round and 8-man short round action.

Cody Coverchuk, Meadow Lake SK won the long round of competition with a solid 83.5 score on the campaigner 962 Wonderlust from Girletz Rodeo Stock. While many bulls were rode close to the whistle, there were no rides in the short round and Coverchuk’s score held up for the win and coveted trophy buckle.

There was also a buckle for the Bull of the Event and it went home with G&M Bucking Bulls' A08 Bad Blood who posted an impressive 45.5 points out of a possible 50.
