MEMBERSHIP TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. Purpose of Agreement
These Membership Terms & Conditions (“Agreement”) govern the relationship between Bull Riders Canada Inc. (“BRC Inc.”) and any individual who applies for, purchases, or holds a BRC membership (“Member”). This Agreement applies to all BRC‑sanctioned, approved, affiliated, or related events, activities, and functions.
This Agreement is binding upon acceptance of membership and works together with the BRC Membership Application and the Pledge, Waiver & Release signed by the Member.
2. Membership Eligibility & Obligations
2.1 Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for membership, an applicant must:
• Submit a completed membership application
• Pay the required membership fee
• Sign the Pledge, Waiver & Release
• Maintain valid accident/injury insurance
• Meet any additional requirements set by BRC Inc.
2.2 Member Responsibilities
Members agree to:
• Follow all BRC rules, bylaws, and codes of conduct
• Act professionally at all BRC events
• Comply with safety protocols
• Provide accurate information
• Respect livestock, personnel, officials, and volunteers
3. Event Participation
3.1 No Guarantee of Entry
Membership does not guarantee entry into any event. BRC Inc. may limit or deny entries at its discretion.
3.2 Event Rules
Members must comply with all event‑specific rules and safety protocols.
3.3 Officials’ Authority
Judges’ decisions are final and not subject to appeal.
4. Suspension & Termination
4.1 Suspension
BRC Inc. may suspend a Member for any violation of this Agreement or BRC rules.
4.2 Termination
Membership may be terminated immediately and without refund for:
• Serious misconduct
• Safety violations
• Abuse of livestock
• Abuse of personnel or officials
• Criminal activity
• Actions damaging to BRC’s reputation
4.3 Continuing Obligations
Termination does not affect:
• The Waiver & Release
• Indemnification obligations
• Media rights granted to BRC Inc.
5. Authority of BRC Inc.
5.1 Right to Modify Rules and Policies
BRC Inc. may, at any time and without notice, modify:
• Competition rules
• Payout structures
• Finals qualification criteria
• Fees
• Event formats
• Disciplinary procedures
• Membership requirements
5.2 Member Input Is Advisory Only
BRC Inc. may seek input from Members, but such input is non‑binding and does not create any right to influence corporate decisions.
6. Relationship to the Pledge, Waiver & Release
The Pledge, Waiver & Release signed by the Member is incorporated into this Agreement and remains fully enforceable.
The Waiver survives:
• Expiration of membership
• Suspension
• Termination
• Future seasons
7. Fees & Refund Policy
7.1 Membership Fees
Membership fees are set annually and must be paid in full before participating in any BRC event.
7.2 Non‑Refundable
Membership fees are non‑refundable, including in cases of:
• Injury
• Suspension
• Termination
• Withdrawal
• Event cancellation or rescheduling
7.3 Additional Fees
Members may be required to pay additional fees, including:
• Entry fees
• Fines
• Penalties
• Administrative fees (including NSF charges)
8. Conduct, Discipline & Enforcement
8.1 Code of Conduct
Members must conduct themselves professionally, respectfully, and safely at all BRC events and functions.
8.2 Grounds for Discipline
BRC Inc. may impose warnings, fines, suspensions, or termination for:
• Rule violations
• Unsportsmanlike conduct
• Abuse of livestock
• Abuse of personnel or officials
• Alcohol or substance impairment
• Fraudulent information
• Actions harming BRC’s reputation
8.3 Discretionary Authority
All disciplinary decisions are final and made at the sole discretion of BRC Inc.
8.4 Immediate Removal
BRC Inc. may remove a Member from an event or premises if their conduct poses a safety risk or disrupts operations.
9. Nature of Membership
9.1 Membership Is a License, Not Ownership
Membership in BRC Inc. is a revocable license that permits the Member to participate in BRC‑sanctioned events, subject to compliance with BRC rules and policies.
Membership does not provide:
• Ownership or equity in BRC Inc.
• Shares, voting rights, or governance rights
• Rights to profits, assets, or distributions
• Access to corporate financials or records
• Any guarantee of event entry or participation
9.2 BRC Is a Privately Owned Corporation
Members acknowledge that BRC Inc. is a privately owned for‑profit corporation and not a member‑governed association or society.
9.3 Membership Is Not Guaranteed
Membership is granted by invitation only and may be denied, suspended, modified, or terminated at the sole discretion of BRC Inc.
10. Media Rights & Intellectual Property
10.1 Grant of Media Rights
Members grant BRC Inc. the unrestricted right to use their:
• Name
• Image
• Likeness
• Voice
• Biographical information
for marketing, promotion, broadcast, social media, sponsorship, and advertising related to BRC Inc., and BRC-sanctioned events.
10.2 Ownership of Intellectual Property
BRC Inc. exclusively owns:
• Logos, trademarks, and branding
• Standings and points systems
• Finals formats
• Photos, videos, and recordings produced by BRC Inc.
• BRC-produced Livestreams and broadcasts
• Written materials produced by BRC Inc., including Rulebooks and policies
10.3 Member‑Captured Media

Members who are photographers or videographers retain ownership of the media they personally capture at BRC-sanctioned events. They may sell or distribute their work, provided that:

BRC logos, trademarks, or branding are not used in a misleading or unauthorized commercial manner

• The media is not presented as "official BRC media" unless approved in writing

• The media does not violate privacy, safety, or arena-access rules

• The media does not falsely imply misconduct, wrongdoing, or negligence by BRC Inc.

• The media does not misrepresent BRC Inc. or its operations

Media captured by Members at BRC events who are not photographer or videographer Members may not be sold or commercially distributed without BRC approval.

10.4 Third-party Livestreams

Livestreams produced by committees, contractors, event producers, or third-party providers remain the property of those producers. BRC Inc. does not claim ownership of or revenue from such livestreams unless otherwise agreed upon.

10.5 No Unauthorized Use of BRC Branding
Members may not use BRC logos, trademarks, branding or media for commercial purposes without written permission from BRC Inc.
11. Limitation of Liability
Members acknowledge the inherent risks of bull riding and voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation.
BRC Inc. is not liable for injuries, damages, or losses arising from participation in BRC events.
12. Indemnification
Members agree to indemnify and hold harmless BRC Inc. and all related parties from any claims arising from:
• Their participation
• Their conduct
• Their breach of this Agreement
13. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
14. General Provisions
14.1 Entire Agreement
This Agreement, together with the Membership Application and the Pledge, Waiver & Release, constitutes the entire agreement between the parties.
14.2 Amendments
BRC Inc. may amend this Agreement at any time.
Continued participation constitutes acceptance of the current Terms & Conditions.
14.3 Severability
If any provision is invalid, the remainder remains enforceable.
14.4 Non‑Transferability
Membership is personal to the Member and may not be transferred, assigned, or sold.
