Town of Sylvan Lake Announces two year deal with Bull Riders Canada

Sylvan Lake, Alberta – A two year agreement with Bull Riders Canada means Sylvan Lakers will welcome the Bull Riders Canada Finals (BRC)

  • November 15 – 16, 2019, and again

  • November 13 – 14, 2020.

Bull Riders Canada is the largest Canadian owned and operated bull riding company in Canada, with events spanning the four western provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, as well as north western USA. The events feature competitors from all major bull riding countries, such as Canada, USA, Brazil, Mexico, and Australia.

To celebrate, the Town of Sylvan Lake is planning a weekend of festivities around the major two-day event, including a kick-off concert and dance.

“As part of our efforts to create a community that is ‘brilliant all year’, we’ve worked hard to develop and attract events outside of the summer months. Sylvan Lake is very excited to have the opportunity to host such an elite sporting event that will not only entertain fans and spectators, but will also contribute to our local economy.”

– Mayor Sean McIntyre, Town of Sylvan Lake

“When the Town of Sylvan Lake (Ron Lebsack) first approached us (BRC) about hosting a BRC Bull Riding in the NexSource Centre, we never imagined it would one day turn into the home of the BRC Finals. We are grateful the opportunity presented itself, and are thrilled for this new partnership.” - Jennifer Friend, Bull Riders Canada Executive Director

“At Bull Riders Canada, our mission is to provide opportunities for Bull Riders to ride bulls, Stock Contractors to buck bulls, and committees in small towns all over Canada to host an event.

We are thrilled to bring the BRC Season VII Finals to beautiful Sylvan Lake, Alberta. These dates of November 15th and 16th, 2019 were carefully chosen, so that they would not conflict with any other bull riding events in Canada. Bull Riders Canada believes that anytime a Finals event overlaps other events, opportunities for bull riders and other industry stakeholders are reduced. Being able to work with the Town of Sylvan Lake on these dates is just one aspect that makes this agreement so exciting.

Bull Riders Canada would like to thank the town of Lloydminster, the Team at Lloydminster Exhibition Association, and 3D Bull Riding for hosting and producing our Finals for the past five years.

BRC is looking forward to a wonderful partnership with the Town of Sylvan Lake!”

- Russell Friend, Bull Riders Canada President
